Gran Turismo PSP Thurs
This Gran Turismo. The big boy. The PSP game that should define. He has been in development quite yonkis. Now we've played it a lot, we are wondering what Polyphony has done with him since 2004 because it is not the game we expected.
Kazunori Despite proclaiming itself the existence of a "full GT game, GT PSP itself as patch work rushed. Let's say this first – the physics are really good. The cars handle brilliantly, they have a strong sense of weight and momentum and you can feel the approach you throw weight around in cars and bends to the suspension under the strain.
It's easy treatment the most realistic we've seen in a driving game PSP, and it all happens in a silky 60 frames per second, on the small screen, looks lush. This is why the screenshots and trailers we were all very excited. But a great handling and a smooth frame rates are not the only important factors of a Racing Game and GT PSP does not respond in almost all other areas.
The main mode of the game has no structure. Hit the opportunity for a player and you have three modes, Standard Time Trial (unranked online, we might add), Drift Trial (again, no standings and no targets set), and only race. That's it.
In Single Race, you are thrown from a grid of 45 individual events. Nothing, except the racing area is determined beforehand. The cars you race against are drawn on what car you enter with. So if you're in a Corsa you Puntos race and holidays, for example. Subscribe in a Ferrari Enzo and the game broke the Lamborghini and Zonda Pegan.
You choose the number of laps – not even that is defined – and the difficulty although only the super-easy Grade D parameter is available for each race at first. When you win a race, you get cash to buy cars and unlock the next level of this course only.
There are no championships, no trophies and for this purpose, no feeling of accomplishment. You are just grinding races. Being forced to run the easy grades for each and every race is bloody annoying. It's hours of game time spent monotonous light years ahead of the pack on an empty course.

Gran Turismo in the past been criticized for what you usually buy a fast car and race ahead of the computer. But at least in previous games that challenge you knew a particular event you set, and you've worked hard to get a car fast enough to beat him.
When you won, it was like the reward your efforts to purchase and then upgrade your car with all the larger turbos and whatnot. But there is no change of parts based here. You can change the gear ratios, tires and camber settings, but you can not slap on exhaust kits or new kits Air Induction – as you can in the PSone games that made the series so legendary GT.
There you can enter any race a car (you must enter the mud and snow courses with a four-wheel drive car, but the only restriction we have encountered) and easily win, so what's the incentive to buy new cars?
In other words, no one – not outside to meet your fantasies of getting a car you no longer want in real life. That being the case, you'd think with this dream Ferrari would take some time and effort. What would give you something to aim for. No – we cherish training mode of the game with nearly one million matching 500k and slapped on a bad super-ass car before we even made a single race. Hmm …
The car-buying system is unique in that not all 800 + cars of the game are available for purchase at the same time. A handful of seemingly random about five dealers are available for each day in the game (day pass each time you run a couple of events), before they disappear to make way for the next five.
The idea is that you keep an eye on the car you want until you're lucky enough to make it appear. We do not like it. When you have nearly one million compensation and want to buy a Subaru Impreza rally racing, it's bloody annoying when it refuses to present.

That is essentially what this game boils down to well – is a collection Thurs A Pok? The style, hunting monsters, collect-em-up with "corrective" disguised as a race and you're supposed to take the satisfaction of cars unnecessarily panel instead of little yellow, pointy monsters marshes. Then, trade with friends who also want to get all the cars in the game for no reason.
At the very least, we expected values of the game audiovisual production through the roof. But it seems that the rate of silk 60 frames per second came with some heavy cuts, too. You will often tearing-blank lines between two polygons – something we have not seen since the PSone days.
If you play the exceptional views you may notice all polygons on the floor below you disappear as the camera glides just below the texture, especially when your career in the bunkers full of pitfalls.
And during the replays (which generally look very nice) incorrectly positioned camera angles often see cars drive through your point of view, what a mess to disappear polys. The game has too blurry textures seriously unforgivable. Cars incredible, but at the curbs – anything you come into direct contact with the race you – Look like they have blur on foot with a game N64 you can not help but notice.
Despite all this, there are only four cars on the course. Ridge Racer PSP – a game start that we could add – looks better, moves smoothly and is fast as you want and has 12 cars on track. MotorStorm Arctic Edge (review here) looks brilliant, is full of visual detail, physics has a large and can contain up to ten cars with solid Cpl. It's just better.
As big fans of the series, we have to say, we're bitter. This is not what we expected of boys of Kazunori. They can do better than that. They did better than that on a console with a fraction of the power (talking about the beautiful Gran Turismo 2).

Superb handling of the car is the only redeeming feature for GT PSP. It feels great to drive. But the conduct must be provided with a real racing game and this game is not here. It's just an endless grind relatively easy driving course empty, and far from the experience "Widespread Gran Turismo, it was claimed to be.
