Greetings fans of lacrosse

I decided to start this blog to respond to recent changes by the National Federation of State High Association for School uniforms for the upcoming lacrosse season. In full disclosure, I must say that I am a sales representative for Lightning Clothing based in Maryland. Lightning Wear manufactures and sells custom lacrosse uniforms and team apparel in schools, colleges, Clubs and leagues, youth organizations throughout the country and beyond.

You have not written this blog as a plug or the promotion of self, (Although if your team needs some NFHS approved united please call me hehe), but more to publish a cross-margin evolution recently that affect all programs covered by the NFHS lacrosse rules in the U.S.. Because of my position in the sale of Porter Lightning uniform, I been able to familiarize themselves with the recent changes made by the Association that relate to sport. Please note that the views of this blog are not my own and Lightning Porter or someone else. In addition, I would add your views on this subject on my blog then please write to me, Larry Gibbons.

Be outside the box on the lacrosse field, I run into many school coaches Secondary and directors of sports programs. The consensus of most of these guys and girls is that the rule of the arch of the new uniforms "Pue. Some them have recently spent thousands of dollars on the shirts and shorts. Now, you tell them that if they wear the uniform they should expect see penalties per game does not comply with the rules.

Because of the recession and the pinch of money by schools and parents, many programs are reducing their spending on team uniforms and accessories. They provide only the basics. New rule requires immediate action from all financial programs, and many say they simply do not have it.

"Staff are reminded that any rule changes took effect jersey for the 2008 season

The jersey should be one solid color with only Limited trim contrasting color
allowed. These requirements are incorporated in Article trim 1-9 of the rule book. If
one team jerseys uniform or other violations, they must be identified by the
officials before the start of the competition and punished accordingly. Following
the competition, employees must notify the association state of the school is illegal
uniforms so they can remedy the situation with the school. Note that
equipment violations are handled differently as stipulated in the rules. "

Boys NFHS Rule Lacrosse Jersey
NFHS Boys Lacrosse Rules Committee approved a revised rule jersey in 2003 with a delayed implementation until 2008. The current rule jersey follows:
g. Shirts must be of one solid color with the following specifications compensation authorized:
1. Collar, cuffs and waistband may be of contrasting colors, but not more than 2 inches wide.
2. Side inserts (armpit to the waist) may be contrasting color (s) but not more than 3 inches wide.
3. The numbers must be centered vertically and horizontally and at least 8 inches in height at the front at least 12-inch rear.
4. Figures may include contrasting colors lining (s) not to exceed 2 inches (the number must contrast with the body of the jersey).
5. The shirt is completely cover the shoulder pads.
6. duplicate numbers on the jerseys are not allowed in the same team.
7. Shirts must be of contrasting colors for opposing teams. The home team must wear jerseys of light and the team visitor must wear their shirts dark colors. The visiting team is responsible for the escape of the similarity of colors, but in case of doubt, the referee can ask the team home to change her outfit.
h. Shorts Uniforms: All players of the team is even wear shorts uniform the same dominant color.
i. A visible manufacturer's logo / brand can not exceed 2 ¼ inches square and 2 ¼ inches in any direction on the Jersey and / or pants / shorts. From 2010, the logo not more than one manufacturer / brand or a reference to the outside of each section. (The size restriction is the same for the manufacturer logo / trademark / reference).
NOTE: An American flag, not to exceed 2 per 3 inches, and a commemorative patch or a memory, not to exceed 4 square inches and with written declaration approving association can be worn on the jersey provided neither the flag nor the patch, interfere with the visibility of the issue.
The rule allows compensation only as specified. The following are examples of shirts that will be illegal beginning of the 2008 season:

This shirt is illegal because of the contrasting color yoke, the white trim is describing the yoke and the fact that the base under the arms beyond the armpit and extends to the bottom of the inning.

PROS

While I can see the tip of the angry mob that wants to reverse that decision because they want not be limited on how cool their child can look, I know the overall message and the point that the association has done. The key is that there must be standardization among programs and leagues. When ten children on the ground are eight courts and three different types of shirts, lacrosse, it facilitates the employee's work (And the coaches, I might add) very difficult. Uniformity word might be a cliché, but here the point is made.

The requirements specific combination of colors, addressed by the Association are also a little fun. When I look at some of the pro teams and jerseys disease they have put their men in, I wonder where is the limit. Personally, I know that if I showed my design or customization department the Lightning Wear uniforms lacrosse guns, I'd probably be launched out of the room. My point is, too dazzle and dance on the ground away from the game. We must remember that it is a decision High School. The color and design limitations that the association have once again assist officials. They have idea of what to search on the ground. Figures are not hidden by the logo falcon schools team. CONS

Now I can write about what I dislike about the new regulations. First rule and above all, "12" return number. Although could say that the time has been given to the teams prepare for it personally, I do not agree. Lacrosse is a new growing sport. We all want to continue to grow and prosper. Many parents who let their children start playing the sport are already dissatisfied to spend close to $ 400 their equipment kid. For socks with another $ 100 for a new uniform is not fair, especially in the economy today.

I am very interested to see how the implementation of the new regulations go. Some coaches said they have decided to escape and take the bet.
