A few years ago, the developers at Electronic Arts (EA for short) attained exclusive rights to the NFL license to produce the already very popular video game series Madden. This means that no other video game developer out there could make a video game with NFL players, the names and likenesses in their video games! By obtaining this exclusive license, EA actually hit the market competition of video game football. In substance, Madden NFL is the game of football with only the names and portraits of NFL players. For many in the videogame industry, it was a very intelligent and lucrative deal for EA. For Maddenites there, including myself, were skeptical. The John Madden franchise only had one real competitor, and they were the developers of Visual Concepts.
Visual Concepts is the brainchild of the 2K Sports series of games that include, baseball, hockey, college football and of course the NFL. During the 2005-06 season of NFL Football, developers Visual Concepts did something unheard of in video games. They sold their popular series NFL2k5 football for 20 dollars! The gaming community had mixed reviews, and the game was really good. For $ 20 you can fly! I was surprised when I found! I do not know if anyone tried to make a statement about the price in games video, but by chance the following year, the NFL has given the people at EA the exclusive rights to the NFL license in video games. (I personally think that Visual Concepts I'm sick of the NFL with the price of their game).
The first year of the exclusive license, in my opinion, was not so great. Madden '05 came out with the same hype as the other Madden. For Maddenites true there, it was just okay, nothing special. With the influence ever-growing Xbox system, Madden '06 slowly started to become known as the game play on Xbox. This has been the shift from earlier years of Madden. True Maddenites know that Madden was the best played on PS2! The XBOX 360 has changed all that with Madden '07 and '08. Tournament Annual Madden no longer played on PS2, Xbox 360 was the new home of Madden. Maddenites agreed with this change, it took some time to get used to the Xbox 360, but as we could play the game, who cares. However, we were still waiting for what was Madden is going to say WOW! Madden '09 is the game!
First, Madden 09 is the best graphically it has ever been. Madden has always been good graphically, but '09 has some of the best. Gone are the stiff player models statue of Madden '07 and '08. My main complaint about Madden'07 and '08 models were the players straight. The player models do not move like NFL players. They moved like statues. It seemed that developers focus more on the folds of the uniform of the players and the players' arms. They fixed these problems in '09 and made the Search player models and move more realistically.
Early Madden '09 there is a new feature called Madden IQ test. What the test measures only how you do well in the four main areas of the game: rushing, passing, defense and advanced pass defense. From this point in the game, your Madden IQ is used in conjunction with another new feature, Madden device "My Skill. The My Skill feature adjusts the computer difficulty of the game you play! So finally you get to play against the computer on the coveted All-Madden level! One of my favorite features the game is the EA Sports Backtrack. This feature shows you the mistakes you made during the game. If you throw and interception, it shows you who was open. If you are bombed and looted, it shows you where you ought to look, instead of down the throat of the linebacker blitz! It is a tool that both the rookie and veteran Maddenite can benefit from.
Overall, I am very impressed! It is the game Maddenites everywhere have been waiting for! You will not be disappointed! Some games are worth waiting for. Madden '09, this game!
