What do you charge Microsoft to fix a xbox360 that has a faulty DVD drive in the UK?
Out of warranty. It will not change yourself, must be at Microsoft.
The other answer is wrong, sorry mate, basically every xbox has a key associated with the DVD drive in your NAND. if you notice any strange DVD drive and put it simply will not work. May play DVDs or CDs, but no games, because it is locked. If the firmware in the dvd and parody to make it appear that the orignal on the motherboard supports it, but doing this will cause to be banned from Xbox Live. Im in a similar situation. If you got it in the last year and the warranty does not invalidate Microsoft should fix it for free, may also be good for up to 3 years, provided they are registered. For a price if it is out of warranty directly from your Microsoft. Sorry, could not be more help
