new nintendo 64 system
new nintendo 64 system

In this article I hope to explain how you can play your favorite DVDs on your Nintendo Wii. While the Nintendo Wii is a fantastic system media one thing that holds back from being one of the best around and multimedia consoles is the fact that it plays not DVDs. Nintendo would only be considered a giant of the game and thus chose not to add a DVD player to their standard system.
Fortunately for us, however, some very smart people have been able to find a way that you could play a DVD on the Wii. Now, normally, This consisted of adding a mod chip on your Wii console, but the disadvantage in this meant that your mod chip void any warranty may have been still valid.
Now, however, you can play DVDs on the Wii without having a mod chip and it means that your warranty will indeed remain intact.
The first step is to install the homebrew channel on your Wii, which is a relatively straight forward task. From there, you must install a small application called Mplayer, it will allow your Wii to act as a standard DVD player. The last step is to install a loader program that allows dvdx DVD playback.
The whole process from start to finish can take less than 15 minutes if you have all the appropriate programs handy and it is really pretty straight forward and this way to play DVDs on the Wii.
Another great advantage of having the ability to play DVDs on your Wii is that when you install the software, you can play your own homebrew games, this includes games that work on the N64 and even the Old Ones NES and if you're really tech savvy you can even write your own programs to run on the Wii.
