I am always looking for latest gadgets and gaming accessories. whether third-party manufacturers or by the creators of the system themselves. But I must admit that when I heard Nintendo's Movie Player for Nintendo DS to add, I was very surprised.
The reason for my surprise was pretty simple. You see, I've been watching movies on my Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS, and since their release date, with a fantastic little device called the NDS / GBA Movie Player.
After doing some research on Google, I am equally surprised that so few (Nintendo DS or Game Boy Advance), the owners have not heard about this lesson unheard accessories for their Nintendo DS. It seems that maybe with all the hype around the Sony PSP and its capabilities watching movies, we all failed to take a look at the cheapest Nintendo DS as anything other than a handheld gaming system.
What makes this accessory a must buy for me is the fact that, in addition to films, I was also able to listen to my music on my MP3 Nintendo DS too – like the Sony PSP owners can. I will not enter the debate as to which system is better pocket, or offers more … That would defeat the real purpose of this article, which is just to show Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance owners that their fun little game handheld system is capable of playing all types of multimedia files too.
The GBA / NDS Movie Player enables you to use your Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance Game Boy Advance SP, Game Boy Micro or playing video and audio files and read e-books in the standard Compact Flash cards. And before you think you'll be able to watch video clips or short films, let me be clear in stating that you can watch a film over its total length with the Movie Player. You can use your PC and Compact Flash card reader to transfer normal and convert your media files to Compact Flash cards. The included software converts even files directly from DVD format video player appropriate.
And before you think it'll take a rocket scientist to convert their DVD movies the appropriate file type – think again! The software is very easy to use, it forces you to do nothing more than inserting the DVD you want to convert, or digital file if you have it. If this is not any special format, so to speak, as the UMD discs Sony PSP. You can actually take any DVD movie you own, and convert it with the included software to play on your Nintendo system DS. In order to watch a movie on GBA Movie Player, you must first use your PC to convert DVD movies to appropriate file format for the player himself. This can be done quite easily included with the software provided with the GBA Movie Player itself. And do not forget. You can do much more than just watch movies. You can actually listen of MP3 music, read e-books, and even load the PDA type software on Compact Flash card which will essentially turn your Nintendo DS into a very functional PDA.
Rather than wait for the Nintendo DS video player, which will be published next year by Nintendo themselves, I urge all owners of NDS to take a look at the GBA / NDS Movie Player. It comes with functions and characteristics, and a price that simply can not be beat. Even adding the cost of a Nintendo DS and the video player, you will see that you are yet at par or cheaper than most good quality portable DVD players.
