The SDHC R4i was designed specifically for the new Nintendo DSi consoles. But unlike the original R4 DS Card SDHC R4i also work in all older / original Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite as well – making it fully backwards compatible.
So where you are actually buying, which depends only console you have. If you have the original Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite – then the R4 DS Card – original version – work very well for you. If you are considering to improve in the future to the console from Nintendo DSi – so I want to buy something rather like SDHC card R4i, who will work with your current set up – but also future proof against your will upgrade. And of course if you only have a Nintendo DSi, then you should be watching R4i SDHC card.
Whichever version of the R4 DS card you buy, you'll have all the same features and functions, allowing you transform your Nintendo DS or Nintendo DSi to be much more than a great game hands.

Yes, if your DS works, have a good Dang. As for gameboy games. You can play Game Boy advance, but not classic Game Boy or Game Boy Color. Gameboy advance games are smaller than the classic games and color. Hope this helps.
