Playstation 3 static display during the launch of PS2 games?
I have a 60gig Playstation 3, which contains hardware PS2 compatibility to ago. I have no problems playing PS2 games themselves, but lately I've noticed a problem when the launch of PS2 games. I have the Playstation screen sample, but before the game itself loads I get a static screen (accompanied by a terrible noise static) for a second or 2. Be not experience this problem in the past, and I'm thinking it may have been introduced around the time I hooked the console up to a high definition through HDMI. I wonder if there is a known problem with hardware or PS2 (or possibly the firmware of the machine). Anybody know what the problem might be?
Could be as simple as PS3 Video mode change, which usually does not produce a future staticy screen for a split second. Try turning off ps2 upconversion, or if already, try turning it on. res you are using, what is the resolution of the ps2 game, and what settings you are using upconversion … I use a 1080i TV via HDMI with upconversion and I do not get any static with my 60 significant after the Welcome screen.
