This is the power supply why do not use specified. You've cooked a current through a complex system like a game console (including an old for that) isn't good. You probably fried a couple of small components and, possibly, some major (IC, transistors, etc) so its not a DIY job. His SNES is now a museum piece unusable. A second hand isn't too expencive, just hover around a few thrift stores or e-bay and see if they have any.
