Long ago in a galaxy far, far away, there was the sci-fi movie unlikely to "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope." Back then, However, it was simply known as Star Wars, and has created a franchise unlike anything seen before.
In 2005, Forbes magazine estimated that the Star Wars franchise, when it began in the seventies late, had generated more than twenty billion dollars in revenue, and with six large on-screen stories of success, at least three spin-off films, five licensed television programming, and thousands of books, comics, and toys, it is not surprising. What could be a surprise, however, is that when Star Wars creator George Lucas has finished the first film, he had more budget, timeless, and convinced the film would be a flop. Start the projection of the film did little to improve ideas Lucas, the film would be a kind of success, but when he was finally released in the summer of 1977, the film has earned nearly seven million dollars in its first weekend. It is considered the second most profitable film of all time.
More great movies
Ask to any Star Wars fan, however, and they will tell you it's not just about movies, is also on the goods associated. The original film was intended to be a flop, so no merchandise was created to debut with the film. The toy company, Kenner, but had bought the license to sell products associated with Christmas 1977, demand was so strong, Kenner created an "Early Bird Special" kit. The kit held a certificate fans could send figures for the four 3-inch, as they become available. On Christmas morning, thousands of children got empty cardboard envelopes that held only a display stand, a Star Wars club card, a few stickers and a certificate they could put their name and address on the mail in, and wait several months for the first Star Wars toys ever produced to arrive. A few months later, many children is Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, R2-D2 and Chewbacca in the mail, and years later, these four figures are considered some of the most valuable figures on the collectors market today.
The explosive growth of the industry
As you can imagine, Star Wars toys and merchandise franchise has grown considerably since the Christmas of 1977. Once Kenner geared up the production machine, it slowed for no one. According to figures of complementary measures for vehicles, playsets, and lightsabers, the vintage Star Wars toy market had everything. What episodes V and VI were released, more toys on the market. T-shirts, bed sheets, toothbrushes, combs, watches and were all part of the marketing campaign.
After the release of Return of the Jedi, however, the Star Wars marketing machine slowed considerably. The People seemed to thing the Star Wars market was nearing the end. However, in the late 1990s, a new line of Star Wars action figures was released. Nicknamed "The power of the" line of force, these green carded figures created a whole new generation of collectors, and with the publication of the Special edition of the original trilogy, and the subsequent release of Star Wars Episode I, the marketing machine kicked back into high gear. From bubble bath to sandals, the name of Star Wars can be found on almost everything these days, and we talk about TV shows additional DVDs, and even other films, it is difficult to say when the franchise will ever slow down.

The 1990's Star Wars toys are the same scale as those of the 1980s?
Just wondering if the Star of the figures was released in late 90's are the same size as the early 80s, can be adjusted by 90 Luke Skywalker in a 80 X-Wing, etc? Thanks
They are usually the same scale, although some are bigger and wider. Plastic skirts, capes, etc. can also cause problems. The X-wing 80 is reissued in a time, the first version of X-wing from the 90s.

Given that it’s largely credited with reinventing Hollywood–or at least fostering its overweening box office expectations–it’s hard to imagine that the genesis of George Lucas’ sprawling, multi-billion dollar Star Wars franchise was once considered a risky studio proposition at best.
