T Shirt Trends and Trendsetters
It is well known that the design T-shirt in its present form has progressed from the lightweight cotton knit worn by soldiers during the First World War, after which, by the 1920s, the term "T-Shirt" was included in the Merriam-Webster's. When the Second World War came, the Navy and the Army included the T-shirt as a standard question. A majority of Americans have more than 10 T-shirts each, or more than one and a half billion tees! Apparently if you line them up, they would circle the world 34 times! Not only young people who have a lot of T-shirts, the elderly also T-shirts almost as much, with the number one reason for loving their tees cited by people as Comfort.
T-shirts have always been a way to make a statement or a protest. The hippie movement relied on the t shirt to make a statement through their distinctive association and dye, batik and psychedelic tees. Message tees have been popular since the 1970s when the Americans tried to make a statement of protest against the Vietnam War.
Among the celebrities who have sought to a statement through their clothing tees, Britney Spears and her screen printed tees come immediately to mind. She was spotted wearing a T-shirt saying: "Soon to Mrs. Federline" and "I am the American dream." Then, with her ex, Justin Timberlake, Cameron Diaz dating, she appeared with a tee-shirt saying "Dump Him"! At the premiere of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory a pregnant Ms Spears was spotted with a tank personalized said: "I the Golden Ticket" with an arrow down and his belly.
Tees are also a way for celebrities to influence political opinion among the people, with a t-Listers often sports shirts declaring their allegiance to one either candidate, and even encourage people to vote with the words "Vote or Die" emblazoned on T-shirts of celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Jay-Z Paris Hilton and Ashton Kutcher.
The trend is popular among a untailored tees, with Lindsay Lohan, Hillary Duff, and other icons teens identify trends t-shirt wearing tees that have the collar missing or the merits of reducing or difficulty with the designer or look frayed. Couture tees Saak of Adam are considered works of art and favored by celebrities such as Pink, Jennifer Lopez and Lil 'Kim.
This high visibility of the stars with their customized tees makes people more likely to wear their own t-shirts which they can design or customize their own tastes and requirements. For this reason, sites offering people the options of designing or customizing their own t-shirts or holding target = "_blank"> tshirt design contests are gaining tremendous popularity.
