The Playstation 2 or PS2, is a video game console is the successor of the Playstation and predecessor the Playstation 3. It was developed and designed by Sony. Playstation 2 was released in Japan, one year after the announcement of its development in March 1999.
Currently, Playstation 2 is the best-selling video game console. Sales of the Playstation 2 has a huge hit 120 million mark in 2007. Just after 5 years and 9 months of its launch, Playstation 2 sales reached 100 million units, which makes the game the fastest selling video console.
Initially when the console was launched in 2000, impressive game titles were not `t available to her. But in December 2001, a host best-selling and critically acclaimed game titles have been launched for Playstation 2, Playstation 2, which has contributed to maintaining a lead in the console video game market. Playstation 2 was introduced with one of the more advanced features. These features are not available with games consoles contemporary, which helped Playstation 2 to gain more popularity. DVD playback functionality ports, USB support and IEEE 1394 was the expansion of some of these characteristics.
Software support is another advantage that worked in the favor of Playstation 2. The old systems could be updated on the PlayStation 2 without changing the old software. This has allowed new users to access more games old until a new library and has been developed for Playstation 2. Speed up playback, adding texture smoothing to improve graphics, or a combination of both, have been made with the features added to enhance the PlayStation 2 games Playstation. Sometimes, problems such as failure load were facing browsing the disc. But texture smoothing proved out to be an effective element in any time.
Playstation games can be played online with multiple players. A network card is required for this. This component built into the slimline model with other models, but the consumer has to buy it. These features make PlayStation February 1st big hit among children and grownups as well.
