Not that you can not enjoy themselves same, but unless you have someone who will play with you often, the system will live up to their full potential. The Xbox 360 has a lot of great games, but will to save for a little more time to pay. I stay out of the PS3. Several game developers are starting to leave the system. Even Sony's own continues to assert the PS3 will be a great platform for several years. I would leave it to mature a bit before investing the money Sony is asking. Another option, if you do not have one, is the Nintendo DS. For $ 285 you can buy the system, some games and have money to spare.
