Wireless N Networking Adaptor for Xbox 360
Wireless N Networking Adaptor for Xbox 360
Wireless Internet: B, G, N, etc. .. What does this mean?
I have to buy a wireless router, but I have no idea what to get. I an old laptop that has a "Intel 2200BG wireless adapter" in it so I would still be able to use that computer wireless laptop, but I'm getting the feeling that the world has become a new standard? I'll buy a new laptop soon and would like both should be able to use the same wireless router. Is that possible? And to add further confusion, I will receive an Xbox 360 with a radio network adapter. What do the letters (B, G, N, etc) mean? And you should be looking for if I use the 3 devices? Thanks in advance!
The short? Go to a wireless router G. A, B, G, and N are all wireless standards. Currently, G is the mainstream, N is the next-gen. The wireless adapter supports BG G and is backwards compatible with B, B and A are the two previous generations. BG The adapter can connect to a wireless G, which is now a solid rule. You can buy draft-N, but are still expensive and I know the standard has not yet been ratified. Any laptop you buy today and of its Xbox 360, will be able to connect to a wireless G which is what I personally use for my older computers and the new machine with a wireless card N bright (which is backward compatible).
