Can I use the Xbox 360 HD DVD with my iMac?
I'm thinking of getting a new 24in iMac. If what you really want to take advantage of HD content. Being that Xbox 360 HD DVD is the cheapest HD DVD, I would get to use with my iMac (which does not have an HDTV to use with my 360). I remember reading that PCs and Macs recognize the drive, but the moment there is no software to actually play the HD DVDs. Has that changed? Can I now watch HD DVD on my Mac with the disk? If not through OS X, then I can do in XP or Vista? Thanks for any help.
Short answer, NO. yet there is software to play HD (or Blueray) DVDs on a mac. If you have a Mac mini or one of the largest Mac, you have the option to connect the monitor to the Xbox, and view HD from there. Leopard is rumored to support HD and Bluray … but will to wait until Leopard is released in October. My Mac has a blueray writer …. all I can do is read and write data to discs.
